Tours and Workshopsworkshops and seasonal tours
Eco-tours packed with natural and cultural history, Native plant walks that cover edible and medicinal plants, and workshops that help develop collective care in our communities.
Exploring the vast and abundant ecosystems in South Carolina Lowcountry. The outdoors is our classroom. We get a hands on walking tour experience where we cover more than 10 native edible and medicinal plants in the greater Charleston area. From identification, harvesting, processing and practical uses, participants will be able to begin their own journey of learning how to live with the land with intention, and generational sustainability.
Barrier Islands in South Carolina like Kiawah are precious ecosystems that are crucial to the survival of many species on Earth. We humans also have a deep generational connection to this land. From seasonal stewardship and forced relocation of indigenous tribes, to European colonization and the enslavement of West Africans, this land has sustained generations of human development. Due to conservation efforts, we have access to places like Beachwalker Park on Kiawah Island, where we can visit and explore these rich histories and learn how we can continue to be in good relationship with our natural world.
Up to 15 participants.
The east Kiawah company honors this land and its ancestral stewards by telling their stories.
